A-05Schooling · Year 11 · in-year admission
YEAR 11

Arriving mid-GCSE is the single most time-critical part of this move.

Now · before you fly

Request exam-board syllabus details from the current school — UK schools will ask which GCSE courses are in progress.

On arrival · week 1

Apply in-year directly to Manchester schools — places are allocated as they arise, not by round.

Within 2 weeks

If no place offered, ask the council about the Fair Access Protocol.

ADDrawn by Adrian Duckett · school leader, 15+ years · IB, A-Levels, IGCSE

The full schooling plan covers applications, documents, timelines and your rights — end to end.

A-06Your Pet · the longest lead item in your move

Three stages, in order

Stage 1 · before you apply

Getting a landlord's yes: what a strong pet application contains, and the honest reality that the statutory right protects a tenant keeping a pet, not an applicant competing for one.

Stage 2 · before you fly

Getting your pet here: microchip, rabies vaccination, the 21-day wait, an authorised Official Veterinarian, and an approved manifest-cargo route.

Stage 3 · once you've landed

Updating your microchip keeper details, and the deposit rules that apply where you're renting.

STOPA rabies vaccination given before the microchip is invalid — the whole process restarts.
WATCHTapeworm treatment must be 24 to 120 hours before arrival. Outside that window the paperwork is invalid.
TIPYour landlord must respond to a written pet request within 28 days, and consent cannot be unreasonably refused.

The full sheet counts every date back from your arrival, and covers deposit caps by nation.

A-07Communities · your year, not just theirs

One of you is moving for a job that comes with colleagues, a desk and a diary already full. The other is starting from nothing — and that's the harder move, though nobody warns you about it.

Ninety days, drawn

Days 0–13 · scaffolding

Drop-ins only, zero commitment. You're not behind — nothing permanent is supposed to exist yet.

Day 30 · a second visit

The same place twice is what turns a venue into a routine.

Day 60 · a regular somewhere

People start recognising you. This is the part that can't be rushed.

Day 90 · a first commitment

Something with your name on it — a team, a shift, a class.

The full sheet maps the regular fixtures near your shortlisted areas, with your first dates worked out from your move-in day.

A-04Renting Guide · written for your route

C.01 · The new renting rules

Coming from Mumbai, you may expect a large upfront payment to secure a good home. In England it works differently — and some of what agents ask for is now illegal.

STOPNever pay a "holding fee" above one week's rent — it's unlawful under the Tenant Fees Act.
WATCHOffers of many months' rent upfront can weaken, not strengthen, your application with some referencing firms.
TIPA UK-based guarantor usually beats rent-in-advance — line one up before viewings.

One of 12+ guide topics in the full Blueprint, each written for your route.

F.01The people behind your Blueprint

Technology for the busywork. People for the judgement.

A Blueprint isn't generated and forgotten. Matthew draws up every one personally, and Adrian writes every family's schooling plan. The initials on your Blueprint mean it's their work.

C.01Why you need us

The expensive mistakes happen before the move.

Every week we see the same avoidable mistakes cost international movers money, time and good homes. Your Blueprint is drawn up to catch them before you commit.

The rejected application

No UK credit history means many referencing checks fail international movers by default — unless the workaround is prepared before you apply.

Caught on the Move Plan

The wrong area, on a 12-month tenancy

Areas that look great online can mean the wrong commute, the wrong budget or the wrong schools. Most people find out after they've signed.

Caught in Areas

The missed school window

In-year admissions run on their own clock. Miss it and your child waits for a place — mid-GCSE, that's serious.

Caught in Schooling

Paying what you shouldn't

Some of what agents ask international movers for is avoidable. Some of it is actually illegal. You need to know which is which before the money moves.

Caught in the Renting Guide

Your Blueprint catches all of this before you commit — so you arrive with a plan, not a lesson.

C.02A family example

Forty-five days out. Four risks removed.

The Sharmas are moving from Mumbai to Manchester with a son midway through his GCSEs — 45 days out. Here's what their Blueprint did in the first week:

TodayMoving day · 20 Sept

Referencing · 30/100

Flagged as their weak point, with a guarantor plan set — before the first viewing, not after the first rejection.

Week 1 · Move Plan

Three areas matched

Balancing a Spinningfields commute, family houses and school options — Didsbury, Chorlton and Heaton Moor.

Week 1 · Areas

£1,841 true monthly cost

Rent, council tax, energy and the rest — known before they committed to a rent figure, not after.

Week 1 · Tools

Year 11, mid-GCSE — planned

Adrian's in-year admissions timeline: what to request from the current school before flying, and exactly when and where to apply.

Week 1 · Schooling

That's the difference between arriving hopeful and arriving prepared.

The first 25 Blueprints are free. You claim a place through the free scorecard; we confirm it with an invitation code you use at checkout. Once 25 places are claimed, the standard £99 price applies.

Is it a document or a tool?

A live, interactive plan you open by link and keep — not a PDF. You tick tasks off and your readiness updates as you go.

How fast do I get it?

Within one working day. Matthew draws up every Blueprint personally before it's sent.

What if something's wrong?

Your Blueprint is personally drawn up and delivered within one working day. If anything's wrong, we put it right.
